Pakistan Army soldier martyred in North Waziristan attack
Terrorist activities in North Waziristan have increased lately, says ISPR
A soldier was martyred on Saturday when a Pakistan Army vehicle was attacked in the Boya area of North Waziristan district, said a statement by the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR).
The vehicle came under direct fire and was also targetted by an improvised explosive device (IED) while conducting a routine security patrol in the area.
As a result of the attack, Sepoy Amil Shah embraced martyrdom.
"Terrorist activities in North Waziristan have increased lately. During the last one month, five soldiers have been martyred and 31 injured due to terrorist actions," added ISPR.
The military's media wing further said that the arrest of facilitators linked to these terrorist activities led to the Kharqamar post incident on 25 May.
On April 29, a security official was martyred in the Datta Khel area of North Waziristan after unidentified men opened fire on a security check post. The area had been cordoned off after security forces launched a search operation.
