WPA Chairperson discusses a number of issues with CM Buzdar
LAHORE:
Various steps are needed to protect and curb violence against women, said Punjab Chairperson Women Protection Authority (WPA) Kaneez Fatima Chahdar.
She discussed a number of issues with Punjab Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar in a meeting held at his office on Wednesday.
The chief minister directed the WPA to proactively perform as it is the best platform to protect and redress the grievances of female victims of violence. “This authority should perform with renewed zeal for providing necessary assistance to female victims of violence.”
Buzdar said that womenfolk have equal rights in Islam. The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf (PTI) government is the guardian of women’s rights, he added. He directed that a vigorous campaign should be launched to sensitize the people.
