Salman Khan, who is gearing for the release of his upcoming film Bharat, has often slammed Bollywood star Priyanka Chopra for walking out of the film.

Before Katrina Kaif bagged Bharat, Priyanka had been approached for the film but the actor changed her mind at the last minute. Now that filming is over and ready for release, does Salman think she may have been the wrong choice?

"No, not a wrong choice. But initially, Priyanka was very keen to do Bharat. Ali (director Ali Abbas Zafar) and we all thought it was Katrina Kaif's film. But Katrina and I did Tiger Zinda Hai just before that and Ali said that we need a girl who is Hindustani," Pinkvilla quoted Salman as saying.

He continued to complain about Isn't It Romantic star. "After all this, the ‘Nick story' happened, the embarrassing thing happened and she chose to get married."

Priyanka reportedly exited Bharat as she was getting married to former Jonas Brothers star Nick Jonas at that time of filming. Either way, Salman's comments prompted Indian singer Sona Mohapatra to come out in her support.

"Cus @priyankachopra has better things to do in life, real men to hang out with & more importantly, girls to inspire with her journey," Mohaptra tweeted.

Salman previously said, "Priyanka, over Bharat, chose the USA in the 'nick' of time. She has worked so hard all her life, okay? And when she got the biggest film of her life, she dumped that film and got married. You know, hats off! Usually, people leave their husbands for a film like this."

It seems the ill-feelings have been developing for a while. Earlier, when Salman was asked if he had any conversation with Priyanka lately, he replied, "No. Even after the release of Bharat's trailer, Priyanka didn't call me. Now, if she had some genuine problem then it's alright. I believe, whatever happens, happens for good."

Priyanka, soon after leaving Bharat, opted for The Sky Is Pink.
