Twitter hits gold after Hamza Ali Abbasi, Shaan Shahid share gems on saving the economy

Published: May 24, 2019

In a time of financial crisis, actor Shaan Shahid and Hamza Ali Abbasi seems to have a perfect solution.

Following the record-breaking increase in the value of US Dollar, the actor appealed to fellow Pakistanis to sell their dollars and buy local currency instead.

The Zarrar actor’s tweet got a hashtag ‘Buy back Pakistani rupees’ trending on Twitter.

“Appeal to all my fellow Pakistanis .. #buybackpakRs no matter how little or how big one can afford but let’s put in our share,” he wrote.

Shaan continued, “Let’s start with whatever little we have to start with exchange 50,100 or 1000$ and buy back our rupee. We must not question right now. Let’s unite as the threat is mutual. We have a right to disagree with each other but lets agree on our survival our future.”

“Our currency, our pride,” he then tweeted. “We must defend it from economic attacks that are challenging our freedom and our right to exist. In this war, we are all economic soldiers. We must defend our rupee.”

Hamza soon caught Shaan’s stance.

“I don’t have a dollar account but my mother and sister have one. I am proud to announce that today they converted all the dollars into PKR,” the Mann Mayal star shared. “So I request all of you to DITCH THE DOLLAR and buy Pakistani rupee as soon as possible and play your part in strengthening our currency!”

And Twitter had some thoughts.

If you have dollar buy rupees with the dollar. If you don’t have dollar, buy it first and then convert it to rupees. This is what Shaan was saying.Recommend

It is called saying the obvious. His audience are the ones who have bought dollars or have sufficient amount in dollar accounts. If you dont have dollars that does not mean nobody has it.Recommend

Wouldn’t it make more sense for these celebrities to tell people to go to Islamabad and shut it down with dharnas so the incompetent government of Imran Khan is pushed out. The debt,, u turns, decline in the value of the rupee and the colossal begging campaign of Imran Khan is what has caused all the economic problems which developed the last 8 months,Recommend

While it is somehow moral not to hoard dollars as the rupee plummets, buying rupees isn’t going to change much unless our exports and foreign investment see an astronomical rise. These half-baked solutions will not work to save the economy. Recommend
