Pakistani swimmer Kiran Khan recognised by World Olympians Association

Athlete will be able to use OLY after her name after receiving certificate

LAHORE: Pakistani swimmer Kiran Khan was ecstatic after receiving a recognition certificate from the World Olympians Association.

Kiran will now be able to use OLY with her name for serving Pakistan swimming in multiple Olympics.



Kiran received Pakistan's civilian honour of Tamgha-e-Imtiaz in 2012. She has 327 national gold medals to her name, while she has also bagged 47 medals internationally.

She was also announced as the Pakistan Youth Icon in 2008, while she won the Benazir Women Excellence award in 2009.



“I faced all the problems with determination to reach this point,” Kiran said. “I am proud of my achievements.

She further said: “One should try to achieve something in life every day. I am thankful to all the people who were involved in helping me get this recognition.”
