Four arrested for firing at judicial commission in Rawalpindi

Judicial commission comes under attack during visit to Malkan graveyard

RAWALPINDI: The Waris Khan police have arrested four people on suspicion that they allegedly fired on a judicial commission which was visiting the Malkan graveyard.

Police have booked Nauman alias Mani, Malik Azhar, Malik Masood and Malik Nauman under terrorism sections. Meanwhile, an anti-terrorism court (ATC) granted a five-day physical remand for Nauman while the remaining three suspects were granted interim bails.

The judicial commission was visiting the graveyard on court orders to review complaints of encroachment but came under gun attack.

Separately, a police sub-inspector was wounded after being shot at by wanted suspects in three different cases in the remits of Kalar Syedan police station.

According to the details, the police squad raided a spot to arrest suspects including Nasir Shafat and Mansoor Shafat. Published in The Express Tribune, May 23rd, 2019.
