Maryam thanks Bilawal for 'getting up mid-meal to fetch her tea'

PML-N leader hopes the meeting culminates into becoming voice of the masses

In a gesture aimed to display a united front against the ruling Pakistan Tehreeke-e-Insaf (PTI), the heirs of Pakistan Peoples Party and Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) met for Iftar on Sunday in a bid to renew ties.



PML-N vice-president Maryam Nawaz thanked PPP chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari for the hospitality he extended at the dinner.

“Thank you very much for the lovely iftar,” wrote Maryam in a tweet. “Especially for getting up mid-meal and fetching me tea. You are indeed a gracious host.”

Maryam hoped the meeting would “culminate into becoming voice of the masses of Pakistan who have been crushed by inflation & incompetence”.

The PPP leader hosted PML-N’s top leadership including Hamza Shehbaz, Shahid Khaqan Abbasi and Ayaz Sadiq among others.

The guest list also included representatives from major parties such as Aftab Khan Sherpao of Qaumi Watan Party (QWP) and Mohsin Dawar of the Pashtoon Tahffuz Movement.

PPP leaders including Asif Ali Zardari, Sherry Rehman and  Raza Rabbani were also present at the occasion.
