JHELUM: Police was called to a Jhelum house early on Friday morning after unidentified armed men tried to break into the house of a local resident who claimed that he has been receiving death threats from members of the land mafia who have previously had his mother assassinated.

In a written request filed with the Jhelum District Police Officer, Bilal Town resident Ehteshamul Hasan Rizvi stated that in 2012, land grabbers had his mother killed at the hands of a terrorist organisation allegedly to usurp his property.

Rizvi in his request stated that he had registered a murder case against suspects three suspects at the Sheikhupura police. But that did not stop them from allegedly encroaching on his land and issuing death threats.

Early on Friday morning, Rizvi stated that he heard some men try to break into his home but failed. When the inmates turned on the lights the men fled. Over an hour later, Rizvi said that he got a call in which the suspects allegedly threatened to kill him and kidnap his children unless he withdrew from the case

Rizvi called the police who came and inspected the attempted break-in. Rizvi then wrote to the Jhelum DPO to take action against the suspects.
