Police mobile attacked, two cops injured in Karachi

Police kill one of the attackers, while three manage to flee

KARACHI: A terrorist was killed and two policemen injured after unidentified assailants attacked a patrolling police mobile on Super Highway on Saturday.

According to Malir SSP Irfan Bahadur, four assailants on two motorcycles attacked a police mobile with a hand grenade near Chakar Hotel. As a result, two police constable Azmat and ASI Hayyat sustained injuries.

In retaliation police killed one of the attackers, while his three accomplices managed to flee from the scene. Police claimed that attackers belonged to a banned outfit. Police also claimed to have seized weapons from the area. Further investigation into the matter is under way.
