LAHORE: Punjab Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar said that corruption was rampant among past governments whose policies badly damaged the economy. He expressed these views while speaking to parliamentarians at the chief minister’s office on Saturday.

Record loans have been taken during the past decade. These loans were not used for development and progress and now the people are paying for the policies of the past government, he stated.

The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf (PTI) government is steering the country in the right direction, he said. Our struggle is aimed towards bringing prosperity and we are taking every step for the betterment of the nation, he said.

Elements afraid of change are busy spreading false propaganda, he said. Those who have looted the national exchequer are criminals. The tenure of plundering, as observed in the past, will not return, he stressed. However, it will take time to fix the problems created in the past 70 years, he said.
