Over the last three years, there have been innumerable moments when pundits have predicted about Theresa May’s removal from Downing Street but now with her party against her, the prime minister is on her last legs. The reason why Prime Minister May is in trouble is that she has failed to deliver the Brexit deal she agreed with the European Union (EU). So this June, May is making one final attempt to save the exit plan and perhaps her position as prime minister by seeking support from MPs on Britain’s divorce deal with Europe.
This will not be an easy one to win. Some Conservatives already oppose the idea of staying in the EU customs arrangements for a long time. Others Tory MPs reject the supremacy of European Union law over many areas of British life even after the exit. And then there is the £39 billion divorce payment for leaving Europe, which irks the Eurosceptics.
With so many obstacles to negotiate, the odds seem are against Prime Minister Theresa May. She is most certainly going to be defeated in parliament for an embarrassing fourth time this June, and this will spell the end of the May era — if not Brexit for now.
