Medical and health experts say smoking 30 cigarettes a day increases the risk of lungs cancer up to 30%

FAISALABAD: Medical and health experts on Thursday said smoking 30 cigarettes a day increased the risk of lungs cancer up to 30%.

Medical experts of Allied Hospital Faisalabad and Punjab Medical College said smoking 10 cigarettes a day increased the risk of lung cancer to 7%, smoking 20 cigarettes a day increased it 13% while smoking 30 cigarettes increased the risk of lung cancer up to 30%. They also claimed that one cigarette reduces eight minutes from the life of a smoker. The smoke of the cigarette affects nearby people as well. The smoke of the cigarette contains 300 different harmful compounds that enter into the respiratory tract in the form of small drops and gradually destroy the body systems.

One cigarette contains 3mg to 6mg nicotine which is absorbed 10% to 90% by the lungs.

The 16 dangerous components become the cause of lungs cancer.
