ISLAMABAD: Traffic police issuing tickets to erring motorists at pickets set up by the police in different areas of the city is causing an unintended consequence of jams at peak hours. Motorists who shared their experiences and observations over this impractical policy stated that it forms long queues of vehicles at the stops at a time in Ramazan when most people are trying to get home quickly.  The space around police pickets is not enough to park the vehicles which are waiting for their ticket to be issued which obviously leads to creating a traffic jam there, particularly during peak hours, a motorist said. The police pickets have been established at 13 various points including at Faizabad, PWD, Sectors G-11 and E-11, Zero Point and Police Foundation where the huge flow of traffic is observed throughout the day.
