RAWALPINDI: The scarcity of water in Range Road area of the Rawalpindi Cantonment Board (RCB) has irked residents who claim that valve-men are controlling the water supply system and forcing them to purchase expensive water tankers.

Residents of the area told The Express Tribune that the Khanpur Dam was overflowing but they were still longing for water supply.

They claimed that the cantonment staff had allegedly colluded with the tanker mafia.

They added that a water tanker from private tanker services was available for as much as Rs3,000. They claimed that the valve-men and area in-charge are ‘missing’.

They urged the station commander and the RCB’s executive officer to take notice of the situation and to help alleviate their difficulties.
