FAISALABAD: Hundreds of patients at the Allied Hospital and Civil Hospital remain deprived of treatment as around 50 per cent of the hospitals' machines are in a state of neglect, Express News reported Monday.

The two hospitals are the biggest state-run hospitals in the city and a large number of patients are dependent on them for treatment. The malfunctioning machines prevent doctors from correctly diagnosing and treating the patients.

The Echocardiography and X-ray machines in the emergency ward of the Allied Hospital are out of order and the ventilator in the children’s ward is also non-functional. The CT scan machine and an operation ward also remain closed resulting in the operations of dozens of patients being postponed.

Commissioner Faisalabad Tahir Hussain said that the machinery installed in the Allied Hospital is very old and efforts are being made to get new machines installed in the hospital.
