Boys punished for one-wheeling
The city traffic police and police had formed joint teams to stop youth which perform dangerous stunts
RAWALPINDI:
The Waris Khan police gave a special punishment to the adventurous youngsters who were arrested on one-wheeling after iftar. Videos revealed that some 15 youngsters were made ‘murgha’, a physical punishment, and forced to run a race crouched like roosters in police station front yard. There is no law applicable to penalize juveniles for one-wheeling – a daredevil sport of riding motorbike on rear wheel. Many young people have lost life and limb, while police have no other option but to warn them or give some light punishment. The city traffic police and police had formed joint teams to stop youth which perform dangerous stunts by riding their motorbikes on its rear wheel on busy roads of the city particularly during Ramazan. The senior police officials were contacted for their versions but they refused to do so.
