BHAKKAR: Like many other big cities of Punjab, an online monitoring vehicle system has also been launched in Bhakkar to monitor the provision of the best products to the customers at Ramazan bazaars.

The Punjab government and district administration are using all the resources to ensure the availability of food items at Ramazan bazaars on discounted rates in all districts, including Bhakkar.

The control room, which was built at the Deputy Commissioner's Office in Bhakkar, is not only monitoring the Ramazan bazaars, but officers also note down the complaints of the people visiting the Ramazan bazaar. The staff members working in the control room prepare their report and present it to the deputy commissioner on a daily basis so that necessary action is taken against those involved in corrupt practices.

Punjab Minister for Co-operatives Mehar Muhammad Aslam Bharwana, Secretary Punjab Mansoor Qadir, and Special Adviser of Punjab Chief Minister Amir Mohammad Khan reviewed the performance of Ramazan bazaars during their visits to Bhakkar recently and appreciated the launch of the monitoring system.

Bharwana said that this online monitoring vehicle system should also be introduced in other districts of the province.

Various facilities such as separate prayer areas for males and females, waiting area for women who come for shopping, play area for children, a medical camp and iftar arrangements are available at Ramazan bazaars.

Deputy Commissioner Captain (retd) Waqas Rasheed told The Express Tribune that nine Ramazan bazaars have been set up in four tehsils of district Bhakkar. For the first time in the history of Bhakkar, these bazaars are being monitored through mobile camera vans. The main objective of this monitoring is to solve the consumer's complaints immediately and to ensure the maximum provision of facilities.

"The van moves around the Ramazan bazaars established in district Bhakkar, Darya Khan, Mankera and Kallar Kot and I monitor the entire process myself," said Rasheed.
