PML-N K-P chief’s son arrested on corruption charges

Ishtiaq Khan has been arrested for embezzlement of earthquake relief funds

PESHAWAR: Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) has arrested five contractors including son of Ameer Muqam the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) president of the party’s Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa chapter.

Ishtiaq Khan has been arrested for embezzlement of earthquake relief funds for the construction of Alipuri-Besham road in Shangla and also delaying the project of NHA for 10 years.

Joint secretary (admin) ministry of communication filed the complaint. The FIR filed at police station FIA mentions that the complainant requested for fixation of criminal liability on part of NHA officers, consultant and contractors responsible rehabilitation and widening project of earthquake affected section of NHA’s Alpuri- Besham N-90.

The project caused heavy loss to the national exchequer due to non-compliance of NHA code and improper execution  of the project worth Rs850 millions.

The FIR states that the project has been delayed intentionally for ten years, while also set back to the public exchequer in million.

His father is also facing charges of corruption and using his office for availing the illegal means, while he has filed an application that NAB should notified him before taking him arrested.
