Private schools

I urge the government to take strict action against schools found increasing fees unreasonably

KARACHI: There is no denying that our private schools provide better quality education than public schools. However, the exorbitant fees prove that private schools have become more than just educational institutions.

My father is a low-income worker who has always dreamed of providing his son a good education. Unfortunately, the high tuition fee charged by private schools has left my father worried. He is the sole breadwinner of a family of eight and cannot afford my education.

There are many like me, struggling to fund their education for the same reasons. In addition to this, students are overcharged by schools under various excuses, like fee for uniforms, stationery, extracurricular activities, etc. This has become a burden for students belonging to middle and lower-middle class families, as private schools are literally looting the parents of students. The parents never speak up against this injustice as they fear the teachers and school would retaliate against the child and hold grudges against him or her. I urge the government to take strict action against schools found increasing fees unreasonably, and to provide a platform for parents to unite and voice their concerns.
