Zahir Jan told the Mirpur police that his son, Muzammil, had allegedly been abducted by unidentified people from outside his home and now, he was recovering calls from unidentified callers demanding a ransom of Rs10 million to secure his release.
In response to his complaint, Abbottabad SP Qamar Hayat constituted three police teams, including counter-terrorism department (CTD) officials to investigate the case and to recover the boy.
The police obtained Jan’s call records to trace the callers and discovered that the calls were fake. They also managed to recover the boy from the house of Jan’s brother-in-law.
