Career counseling

Letter May 13, 2019
The government and educational institutions should work together and hire experienced professionals

TURBAT: Career counselling is an important process to familiarise students with prospective professional fields. It is meant to act as a form of guidance so students may be able to explore different professions and job prospects, before pursuing higher studies. Counselling sessions create a safe space for students, where they feel at ease to discuss their life and career choices. They can explore different options and deal with important factors such as finances, etc. It also helps in connecting students with people who are already working in a particular profession. Hence, students can make important decisions and plan their futures while keeping a look-out on opportunities related to their selected fields.

The government and educational institutions should work together and hire experienced professionals as counsellors to mentor students and help them in choosing a career that suits their personality and interests.
