Twitter is busy reflecting on the superhero flick that smashed box office records in a particularly heartfelt way, this time. A Twitter thread has explained how a Muslim man indirectly saved the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU), garnering more than 20,000 retweets at the time of writing, reported The Independent.
Tony Stark, a.k.a Iron Man, made the ultimate sacrifice to defeat super villain Thanos by snapping his fingers and dying due to the high energy reaction from the powerful Infinity Gauntlet.

The latter saves the ingenious scientist's life early in their friendship by placing the iconic electromagnetic implant in his chest, which stops bits of shrapnel from reaching the Stark's heart.
As the duo hatch a plan to escape their captors, IronMan builds his first suit. However, Yinsen ends up getting murdered by the terrorist syndicate.

It was, in fact, the selfless act of the Muslim man in 2008 that saved the man who would go on to save the entire planet in 2023.

Yinsen led by example of Islam in terms of seeing the best in people. He knew Starks military involvement in foreign soil was the whole reason that he was in a terrorist camp, also likely why he lost his whole family yet he still spoke to Tony with respect.

Thank you for this thread, I have always thought that Yinsen is one of the most under appreciated Marvel characters, the scene you have pictured might not be the most emotional scene in the MCU, but it is certainly the most grounded.

Despite its success, Marvel is also criticised for its lack of diversity and progression. The franchise has only included female and black lead characters in its films over the last couple of year and done a little for LGBT+ representation.
Back in 2008, they attempted to include Muslims in roles other than terrorists and comedy characters. What's even more exciting is that Marvel teased fans in 2018 by saying they have intentions to introduce a Muslim superhero into the MCU.
