Drug bonfire: Seminar on Day Against Drug Abuse

Large quantities of confiscated drugs were burnt on the occasion.

FAISALABAD: A seminar was held to mark the International Day Against Drug Abuse on Sunday. Large quantities of confiscated drugs were burnt on the occasion. The seminar was held at the Faisalabad Arts Council, where a large number of women participated in the event and speakers told the audience about the complications and after affects of short-term and long-term drug use. The speakers also told the participants about the various measures that could be taken to protect against drug abuse. At the end of the seminar, the Excise Department set fire to 12 kilos of charas, 25 kilos of bhang and a large quantity of heroin. They also spilled over 200 litres of liquor.
