Two wife-killers arrested in separate raids

PESHAWAR: Another woman was shot dead in an alleged case of a so-called honour killing in Ghujar Ghari locality of Mardan, which turned out to be a case of a monetary dispute.

Police have arrested the husband, who has confessed to his crime stating that he had killed his wife on doubt that she had illicit relations with his friend.

However, the suspect was trying to mislead the police and in fact, killed his wife and put the blame on his friend who had given him a loan.

Saddar police station SHO Ajab Khan Durrani told the media that Lalzada had filed an FIR on April 27 alleging that his friend Muhammad Hussain had killed his wife.

Police had registered the case against the nominated suspect who was subsequently arrested. During interrogation, Hussain told the police that actually Lalzada had killed his own wife.

According to Hussain, Lalzada owed him money and on the day of the incident, he had asked him to come to his home.

Hussain said he was shocked when Lalzada asked him to sit next to his wife, as he refused Lalzada straightened his shotgun and fired. Hussain said he ran out as shots rang behind him.

Lalzada wanted to kill them both and make it look like honour-killing.

Lalzada then took the body of his wife to Lady Reading Hospital, where she was pronounced dead with multiple wounds of shotgun fire.

The killer nominated his friend in the report, however, police had doubts, Durrani said. The whole picture of the case came out clearly during the initial investigation from the nominated accused.

Lalzada had business term with Hussain and owed him money. When Hussain demanded his cash back, he invited him to home and tried to target him and his own wife to make it look like a case of honour killing.

Subsequently, SHO Durrani arrested Lalzada and sent him to jail.

Wife killed in Swabi

Police in Swabi arrested Arif Syed for killing his wife allegedly over a domestic dispute.

Rehman Gul filed a report at Zeda police station that he had gone to meet his daughter after Fajr prayers. However, when he entered her house, Gul said, he found his daughter’s body lying in a pool of blood.

Zeda police arrested Arif when he was taking the body of his wife to Bacha Khan Medical Complex Shah Mansoor. Police also recovered the murder weapon from the accused.
