PESHAWAR: Police taking timely action foiled a bloody clash between two groups on Thursday.

Lal Gul and Hussain had a property dispute and on Thursday they had a face off in Kattako Pul area. Both the men accompanied by their supporters opened fire at each other.

SP Saddar division Sajjad Khan on reciving the information directed DSP Badhber Granullah Khan to resolve the issue. Subsequently, DSP Granullah reached the site with Inqilab police station SHO Imran Khan reached the site and without fear of flying bullets, the police party jumped in to foray and arrested six people.

Police recovered six AK-47 assault rifles a pistol and several bullets from the feuding parties. All the accused were biooked and locked up.

Meanwhile, Paharipura police busted a bootlegger who was shoring up supply of moonshine for sale on Eid.

Paharipura police station SHO Ijaz Khan on receiving an information from his informers carried out a raid on a house and recovered 60 bottle of liquor, an AK-47 assault rifle, a 12-guage repeater shotgun along with cartridges. Police have registered a case against the accused and sent him to jail.
