Policeman martyred as vehicle comes under fire in Charsadda

CHARSADDA: One police official was martyred on Wednesday after unidentified people fired at a security vehicle in Charsadda.

The attack, which took place in the Tangi area of the district, martyred one official who has been identified as Assistant Sub Inspector (ASI) Muhabbat Khan. Two other police officials were injured in the attack.

The attackers fled after firing on the vehicle. A search operation is underway in the area, said the District Police Officer (DPO) Irfanullah.

The injured policemen have been shifted to a nearby hospital.



Earlier today, at least nine people, including six security personnel, were martyred when an Elite Force vehicle was targeted by a suicide bomber in Lahore.

Three civilians were among the martyred and 21 people were injured in the attack. Police sources confirmed that the Elite Force vehicle was the target.
