
Maqbool has worked as the general manager of procurement and contracts department. He also worked as an LWMC consultant on waste management in Rawalpindi. Allegedly, he committed embezzlements of millions of rupees in LWMC’s projects. The NAB said initial investigations suggested that he reportedly committed corruption of at least one billion rupees. He through fraudulent ways transferred amount of millions of rupees that led to loss to national exchequer.
He also, without the approval of board of directors, awarded contracts to a company named Albayrak. Few days back, the NAB had arrested three accused in the case. The investigations led to his arrest. He will be produced before an accountability court for physical remand on Tuesday. The NAB has already summoned former chief minister Shehbaz Sharif in the case on May 13.
