Empty lives

The big cities hold no charm and people are busy living empty lives

CHAKLALA: Whenever I visit a big city, I always wonder why people are attracted to them so much. These cities do not have much open spaces, and people can be seen living in horrible conditions in every nook and corner. There is garbage and open sewerage and disease is rife. People have little patience, and have forgotten politeness and courtesy. People are so frustrated and worried about money that they are always in a hurry. Nobody ever smiles at anyone, but everyone is ready to fight and curse each other. People have access to all sorts of foods, but none of them have the same nutritional value that you will find in villages. From the milk to the chicken — all contain drugs and dangerous hormones. The big cities hold no charm and people are busy living empty lives.
