ISLAMABAD: The Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) and the Awami National Party (ANP) have expressed serious concerns over the performance of the incumbent government.

“The priority of the government is to victimise political opponents,” said former president Asif Ali Zardari during a meeting with ANP, Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa President Aimal Asfandyar Wali at Zardari House on Sunday.

Zardari was accompanied by PPP leaders Asifa Bhutto Zardari, Syed Nayyar Bukhari, Amir Fida Paracha and Dr Qayyum Soomro and Humayun Khan.

“The ‘selected’ prime minister does not have any programme to provide relief to the people,” said Zardari. “Financial crisis will worsen due to the flawed policies of the current government while there will be a drastic increase in inflation and unemployment.”

Leaders of both the parties discussed the overall situation in the country, including the political situation, in K-P.

The meeting also discussed reports about corruption by the PTI-led government in the province and the increasing number of problems being faced by the people. A detailed discussion regarding increasing problems due to inflation was also held.
