PESHAWAR: The Federal Investigation Agency’s (FIA) National Response Centre for Cyber Crime (NR3C) on Thursday arrested a man belonging to Kohistan district of Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa’s (K-P) for allegedly harassing and blackmailing a woman.

According to details, a resident of Mansehra district lodged a complaint with FIA NR3C stating that the suspect had sent her a threatening message, claiming he would share her pictures on social media if she refused to meet him.

“We received the complaint and verified it from different angles,” a senior official of NR3C told The Express Tribune.

The officer, who requested anonymity, stated teams were formed to trace the suspect and ultimately he was arrested and booked under the relevant section of the law.

The NR3C official said that earlier people would not come forward and succumb to threat messages they would receive, which would create problems for women.
