KARACHI: The rising prices of petrol and diesel are being reflected in a hike in transport costs. This is contributing to the general price rise. As the cost of fuel rises, carriers are forced to raise their rates.
In the end it is the consumers who have to bear the brunt. This creates a situation that leads to reduction in demand for goods and services. This creates reduction in production thereby causing unemployment. This is what economists have to address and set things right.
