Cyber crime

Letter May 03, 2019
Government should enact and implement more stringent cyber-security laws

KARACHI: Cyber-crime incidents are on the rise these days. People often fall victim to cyber-bullying, hacking of social media and online bank accounts, online frauds, etc. The introduction of the cyber-crime bill has provided victims with a legal support in such cases but more still needs to be done. The need of the hour is to make online transactions fool proof and strengthen the security systems already in place. People should also be very vigilant, never share or disclose their bank details such as debit card number, security pin and personal information. The government should enact and implement more stringent cyber-security laws, and the offenders must be given stricter punishments.
