Addressing the participants at the launching ceremony held at Jinnah Auditorium, Bahauddin Zakariya University (BZU), Lodhran Pilot Project CEO Dr Muhammad Abdul Saboor said LPP would play its part to promote peace, tolerance and co-existence in society. “We are going to make a healthy and peaceful society through promoting sports among women,” he said.
He also briefed the participants about key objectives, implementation strategies and way forward regarding Women Peace League. Grassroots Cricket Ltd President Asser Malik said his organisation would promote sports including cricket among young girls in South Punjab.
“Women Peace League is the first milestone to achieve this goal,” he said. He said without the participation of women it was difficult to enhance peace and tolerance in society.
On the other hand, son of former federal minister and owner of Multan Sultan Ali Tareen also announced a women cricket tournament.

Tareen said one tournament would be played in Karachi in the holy month of Ramazan while the other tournaments would be played in Islamabad, Lahore and Multan.
Student affairs Deputy Director Tahir Mahmood said women could play a vital role in building and strengthening peace in society.
