Water Shortage: Operations postponed at Jinnah hospital

There has been a shortage for a last week and a half.

KARACHI: More than 300 operations were postponed on Saturday at the Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre (JPMC) and dozens of patients have been moved to Civil hospital, Abbasi Shaheed Hospital and other medical centres due to the acute shortage of water. According to officials, there has been a shortage for a last week and a half. Apart from emergency cases, other operations were postponed, confirmed Chaudhry Muhammad Akram, the assistant director of administration. When Karachi Water and Sewerage Board chief engineer Iftikhar was contacted, he said the problem occurred due to some technical issue in the water supply lines which would be solved by Sunday evening.
