60 villages of IoK boycott fourth phase of Indian elections

Indian troops arrested five people in Tral, other areas as part of ongoing brutality

People from 60 villages in the Indian occupied Kashmir (IoK) boycotted the 'sham' parliamentary elections as the fourth phase of voting in the Indian polls commenced on Monday, Radio Pakistan reported.

Not a single person from the disputed valley voted. However, Indian troops and paramilitary forces along with police personnel remained on high-alert guarding polling stations throughout the process.

Indian troops on Tuesday continued their act of state-sanctioned brutality and arrested five people in Tral and other areas of the occupied territory.

On April 29, the youth was injured when occupying forces protested against the fourth phase of polling in different areas of Kulgam district. Indian troops fired pellets and teargas shells to express disapproval.
