The tweet, complete with pictures of the footprints also acknowledges that the Yeti is a mythical creature.
For the first time, an #IndianArmy Moutaineering Expedition Team has sited Mysterious Footprints of mythical beast 'Yeti' measuring 32x15 inches close to Makalu Base Camp on 09 April 2019. This elusive snowman has only been sighted at Makalu-Barun National Park in the past. pic.twitter.com/AMD4MYIgV7

Although some patriotic Indians decided to praise the army, others were less than kind.
After the Indian Air Force's Success in Balakot, the Indian Army had to find a Yeti! The Supreme Leader should now direct the Indian Navy to find out the Sea Monster! https://t.co/uD5p6Fr5z2

Others pointed at the mythical status of the creature and urged the army to let it go.
No one's ever seen Yeti... Since 18th century only footprints have been found. Sorry @adgpi but there r serious doubts on this. And as u said "mythical", so let it be. This doesn't need publicity.

Others sarcastically spoke about using this finding to India's tactical advantage and training the Yeti.
Classified.. It's part of program for Yeti warfare training. Russians can train whales, Americans seals, we train Yeti for extreme weather warfare ;)

Some rebutted the story seriously and gave plausible reasons for the abnormally large marks in the snow.
May be someone wearing snow walking wide racket like shoes.. Yeti is a hoax, no fossil ever found.

Some decided to troll the army and suggested that they too had sighted Yeti but he may be camera shy.
You are right. Only yesterday I went to watch #AvengersEndgame with Yeti.

So far, ADGPI page has not responded to its trolls and it seems like they too will remain elusive, much like their new found friend, the Yeti.
