This was directed by a larger bench of the Islamabad High Court (IHC), led by Chief Justice Athar Minallah, while hearing the Sector F-8 Kutchery encroachment case.
During Monday’s hearing, the applicant, a team of lawyers representing the Capital Development Authority (CDA) and a representative of the District Bar Association (DBA) appeared before the court.
Chief Justice Minallah asked the CDA officials whether they had submitted the report sought by the court. However, the CDA’s counsel replied in the negative.
At this, the chief justice said that the matter will be further reviewed once the CDA’s report is placed before them. Justice Mohsin Akhtar Kayani remarked that the city was witnessing a mushroom growth of encroachments and that once Ramazan starts, no space will be left to even set foot in the markets.
The court then directed the CDA member to appear in person before the court at the next hearing and adjourned hearings until May 21.
