Police arrested the suspect who has been identified as Riffat Bibi, Express News reported.
Abrar, the victim, was nominated in a case implicating him in the murder of Riffat's husband. He had not been taken into custody and was still at large.
According to Riffat, Abrar was behind her husband's murder and then entrapped her in the case.
Woman murders husband to marry paramour in Khanpur
Authorities said that the motive behind the crime was to avenge her husband's murder.
Police said that the woman was released on bail in her husband's murder case.
Abrar was scheduled to attend a hearing of the case today (Monday). However, Riffat killed him before he could reach the court.
In a similar incident on April 11, a woman and her ‘friend’ allegedly murdered the former’s husband in Khanpur.
