What is entrepreneurship?

KARACHI: Entrepreneurship means to create a profit-bearing business. However, this concise definition does not reflect the hard work that goes into being an entrepreneur. Individuals choose to build their career based on their own terms and instincts. They have to be the voice of authority and discipline to their own selves and create their own schedules, as they do not have the advantage of an office job with fixed timings. Yet, entrepreneurs are able to take difficult decisions that would benefit their enterprises, as well as the community. Irrespective of where they start off, they are able to achieve success, whether in monetary or non-monetary terms. Even though the aim is to create a sustainable and profitable business, entrepreneurs change the world through their ideas.

A number of national, regional and international actors are collaborating in the global experiment of Entrepreneurship Education (EE) and Entrepreneurship Education and Training (EET). This is now recognised as a long-term field of study, with a large scope of growth, as it provides people with the entrepreneurial mindset and skills to support participation and performance in a variety of entrepreneurial activities.
