A man took his own life after killing wife in the suburbs of Gujar Khan near Rawalpindi's Punjab, just two days after the couple tied the knot.
Applicant Muhammad Razaq, in an FIR registered on Sunday, stated that his son Muhammad Afzal married his cousin on April 25, according to Express News.
“After hearing gunshots, I rushed to his room and found my daughter-in-law’s body in blood," he was quoted as saying, adding that his son shot himself, and died on the spot.
The cause of the dispute between the couple, Razaq added, was not known.
Police recorded the statement of Afzal’s brother with postmortem results awaited.
Officials claimed that the investigation into the incident would be concluded in a few days.
Last month, a man was arrested in Jhang for killing his wife.
