ISLAMABAD: Islamabad Foreign Women Association (IFWA) charity bazaar for fundraising for underprivileged and differently-abled children opened on Saturday.
Special children presented tableaus explaining the problems and difficulties they face in society.
Ambassador of Argentina Ivan Ivanissevich also marked his presence in the event. A number of stalls were also set up comprising items of home decorations, jewellery and handicrafts. The amount obtained from the sales from these stalls would be donated to a private school established for underprivileged children.
The participants said that it was a great effort to generate resources for students who seek education but more should be done in spite of financial constraints. They emphasised that the society should come forward to make such initiatives successful as the future of society depends on its children.
The participants said that this bazaar would benefit the children belonging to underprivileged sections of the society.
The charity bazaar arranged by Islamabad Foreign Women Association (IFWA) drew huge interest from people hailing from all walks of life.
Participated by over 100 stakeholders and entrepreneurs, the bazaar provided citizens of Islamabad with an opportunity of enjoying cuisines of various countries.
Apart from Asian, Continental and Central Asian delicacies, people also took a keen interest in handcrafts and hand-made items.
The Indonesian, Japanese, Maldives stalls particularly attracted attention as they had a lot to offer to ordinary visitors and buyers as well.
Likewise, people thronged to British, Austria, Hungarian, Thai stalls as well to enjoy traditional delicacies of these countries.
CEO Serena Hotels Aziz Boolani and General Manager Michel Galopin were there to check arrangements and facilitate the stall holders.
IFWA charity bazaar is a regular feature and every year more and more people are invited to take part.
