Agha Siraj Durrani's judicial remand extended
Hearing adjourned till May 10
KARACHI:
The administrative judge of accountability courts extended the judicial remand of Sindh Assembly Speaker Agha Siraj Durrani on Friday till May 10.
The judge issued notice to National Accountability Bureau (NAB) regarding B Class facilities to the accused in jail. Durrani was presented before the court by jail officials. NAB officials asked for an extension in remand to complete the inquiry.
"Why is time required for the completion of inquiry?" asked the court. The investigation officer said that the inquiry was not complete yet.
Filing the plea for B Class facilities for Durrani in jail, his counsel argued that NAB should not have any objection to the plea since Durrani is the Speaker of the provincial assembly.
Court issued notice to NAB regarding the plea and accepted NAB's request for extension in remand and adjourned hearing till May 10.
