Hunting wildlife

Reckless hunting not considered serious crime and authorities fail to protect wildlife and ecosystem

MAKRAN: Birds are the beauty of nature and their chirping at dawn and during the sunset is like music to the ears. We feel connected to nature when we hear them, and they constitute an important part of the ecosystem.

The province of Balochistan, especially the Makran belt, is home to a number of migratory birds, like the drechk that come here in the spring due to the abundance of cereal grains.

Unfortunately, many of these birds, along with drechk, are being hunted illegally. The hunters flaunt the law without any fear consequences. This shows that reckless hunting is not considered a serious crime and the authorities are failing to protect our wildlife and the ecosystem.
