ISLAMABAD: Private schools operating in Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT) have been barred from charging students with advanced monthly fee.

The schools violating the instructions would have action taken against them as per ICT Private Educational Institutions Registration and Regulation Act 2013 and Private Educational Institutions Registration and Fee Determination Rules 2016.

The Private Educational Institutions Regulatory Authority (PIERA) has summoned the fee record submitted by all the students till April 2019. Schools have been asked to charge only the due fee of that particular month. It was noted that O/A level schools were charging students with advance monthly fee of up to four months. The schools also barred students whose parents were unable to pay heavy amounts from issuing a statement of entries.  The action had posted a question mark on the students’ future as they would have been unable to appear in the Cambridge examinations.
