ANF siezes drugs from Riyadh-bound passenger at Islamabad airport

Suspect has been detained and shifted for further investigations

ISLAMABAD: The Anti-Narcotic Force (ANF) on Tuesday seized 924 grams of ice drug from a passenger travelling to Riyadh via Islamabad International Airport.

The suspect, Faizur Rehman from Mardan, had hidden ice in cans disguised as frozen fruit

He was detained and shifted for further investigation.

Last month, the ANF in Sindh arrested two accused in separate raids and recovered a huge quantity of drugs from their possession.

According to sources, in an intelligence-based operation conducted near Bismillah Quetta Zamzam Hotel, Mujahid Colony, Nazimabad an accused was arrested and 22.8kg of hashish was recovered from his possession. In another raid, the ANF team during checking at Jinnah International Airport arrested a drug trafficker after recovery of 0.95kg of methamphetamine from his luggage.

ANF arrests two, recovers drugs

Accused Mumtaz Ali had hidden the drugs in coconuts and was travelling to Saudi Arabia. The approximate value of the recovered drugs in the international market is Rs13 million.
