LAHORE: SSP Operations Lahore Captain (retd) Mustansir Feroze has stressed on the need to create religious harmony and forge unity among the people of different groups, sects and beliefs to ensure peace and solidarity in the city. He was presiding over a pre-Ramzan meeting of the District Peace Committee on Monday.

Feroze said that it was necessary to foil the designs of anti-state elements. "Love and fraternity should be promoted among various sects," he said. “Security arrangements could only be successful with integrated efforts and the cooperation of religious scholars and the civil society,” he added.

Interfaith harmony, brotherhood, and tolerance are necessary to overcome the present challenges by making coordinated efforts for sustainable peace, he added.

Lahore SP Security Faisal Shehzad requested religious scholars to play their role in promoting religious harmony during the holy month. He asked them to support the government in its efforts to eliminate extremism from society.
