Three-day National Book Mela attracts large crowd

This year the event is being celebrated under the theme “KitabTaleemi Tarraqqi Ki Zamin”

ISLAMABAD: The three-day annual “National Book Mela” attracted a huge crowd on its second day on Saturday at Pak-China Friendship Center. The annual National Book Mela was organised by National Book Foundation (NBF) and National History and Literary Heritage Division (NHLH).

This year the event is being celebrated under the theme “KitabTaleemi Tarraqqi Ki Zamin” where more than 180 book sellers and publishers have set up their stalls from across the country.

Leader of the House in the Senate Shibli Faraz and Special Assistant to the Prime Minister on Media Iftikhar Durrani also visited the National Book Mela on Saturday.

NBF Managing Director Dr Inam-ul-Haq Javeid, on the occasion, said the amount of passion the visitors showed at the event, highlighted people’s love for book reading.
