A grainy closed-circuit television (CCTV) camera installed at the Model School for Boys in Khanna Dak had seen three school officials including sanitation staffer Nisar Masih and guards Abdul Ghafoor and Muhammad Ilyas load 111 textbooks of different subjects for grades six and eight in the back of a rickshaw.
The school’s principal Fazil Satti had subsequently filed a complaint with the Koral police and had asked the District Education Officer (DEO) to initiate disciplinary proceedings against the school staff.
On Friday, the Federal Directorate of Education (FDE) took notice of the incident based on the report referred by DEO Sohail Khan.
In an office order issued by the FDE Administration Assistant Director Alamgir Shah, the three officials were suspended from government service “for a period of three months with immediate effect on account of gross misconduct under the Government Servants (E&D) Rules 1973.”
