The meeting was held at the Prime Minister’s Office to review progress on the Ease of Doing Business Strategy 2018-21, where Board of Investment (BOI) Chairman Haroon Sharif briefed the prime minister about the progress made so far.
PM Imran was briefed on the automation of electricity connection process by K-Electric, which was trying to make application tracking easier for its customers by shifting to an online system.
The Securities and Exchange Commission of Pakistan (SECP) had been integrated with Punjab and Sindh business registration portals, he was informed. A company can now be registered in one day with the SECP on its online platform.

Moreover, the prime minister was informed about the Lahore Development Authority (LDA) that had started one-window operation for the issuance of construction permits. Similarly, the time period for the same has also been reduced significantly in Karachi.
The property registration process in Punjab has also been completely computerised. The BOI chairman briefed the prime minister about the online payment and collection process of federal and provincial taxes, contributions and duties.
He also spoke about the integration of key departments with the Web Based One Customs (WeBOC) system, an online platform of Pakistan Customs to help importers and exporters save time and money.
