Bad food in restaurants

Letter April 18, 2019
Ignorance among restaurateurs and food vendors often ends up risking people’s health

TURBAT: The city of Turbat faces multiple problems like pollution and lack of cleanliness. Eating out is often a risk as many food vendors serve food that has gone bad or was prepared in an unhygienic manner.

Recently, my cousin ordered some food at a restaurant, and saw the cook used expired products and ingredients to prepare it. Upon questioning, the cook excused himself by saying he did not notice it.

Other than the products being used, my cousin was also able to spot other foodstuffs that had passed their expiry date, and he left without consuming any food there.

This ignorance among restaurateurs and food vendors often ends up risking people’s health. The provincial food authority needs to become proactive and conduct checks across all eateries, and vendors that fail to meet health standards should be punished.

This is the only way to ensure clean and hygienic food is served to customers and to prevent food-related illnesses. restaurants  Recently many incidents of food poisoning resulting from food consumed at restaurants have happened in different parts of the country. The authorities should take notice.
